Kustmarken

Since 1993, Robert and Carina have wholeheartedly dedicated themselves to the breeding and training of dogs, primarily Labradors, with the goal of becoming certified guide dogs. Since its inception, over 500 guide dogs have left Kustmarken, moving forward in their careers and bringing joy and security to their handlers. But why was Kustmarken started in the first place?

– We started Kustmarken primarily because we wanted to make a significant difference in society, something that affects people's lives in the long term, and of course, a burning interest in dogs and developing excellent individuals,' Carina explains. Robert adds:

– We've now run Kustmarken for over 30 years, working with people with various disabilities. The effects we've seen from the combination of humans and dogs, where the person actually feels better just by feeling the warmth and closeness of a dog, are truly amazing. It has inspired us over the years as we've seen that what we do actually makes a difference.'

In both the breeding program, during training, and in their new working lives, the dogs' food is of utmost importance. It needs to be of high quality so that the dogs stay healthy, easily absorb nutrients, and maintain a healthy digestive system.

– We want the best food for our dogs; it makes a huge difference. It should be high quality, promote shiny coats, allow the dog to absorb nutrients, and when it also benefits the environment, well, then it's just perfect, says Carina.

A few years ago, Robert and Carina decided to switch all their dogs in the business, including adult dogs in training, as well as breeding bitches and puppies, to Petgood.

– We've tried loads of feeds, but we've stuck with Petgood because it works so well. We've been using the feed for several years now, and we're extremely satisfied. If we weren't, we would have stopped a long time ago. It's so crucial when working with working dogs that it works! says Carina.

Robert and Carina emphasize the importance of the food working in all situations, for the adult dogs out with their new owners, as well as for breeding bitches and puppies of different breeds raised at Kustmarken. Robert proudly showcases one of the new aspiring guide dog stars, a five-week-old black Labrador puppy:

– This is the next generation of guide dogs. The mother to this puppy has been eating Petgood, the puppy eats Petgood; the body condition is great, the coat is great - it's absolutely the best start they can have!
