Feeding guide

plus

You can find our feeding table for petgood kitten here. Remember that these are just guidelines - you might have to adjust the amount up or down. Always make adjustments depending on your cat's body condition.

High-quality protein

plus

The leading ingredient in our diet is the Black Soldier Fly larvae. The Black Soldier Fly is a premium quality protein source, rich in amino acids with high digestibility. What this means is that our diet provides essential amino acids for your cat; and that your cat can easily absorb this valuable protein. And yes - of course also taurine for eye and heart health.

DHA fatty acid for healthy brain development

plus

Our kitten diet contains higher levels of a specific omega-3 fatty acid called Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). DHA is essential for a healthy development of the kitten's brain, retina and nervous system

Supports gut health

plus

Our diets contains healthy dietary fibers and prebiotics from natural sources, which has proven beneficial effects on the intestinal bacterial flora. Just like in humans, research has shown how a healthy intestinal flora in dogs and cats has positive effects on the body's well-being and general immune system.

Nutrients that feed the good bacteria in the gut are called prebiotics. Our feed contains several natural prebiotics, to give the good intestinal bacteria optimal conditions to thrive. Dietary fiber contributes with an increased feeling of satiety, a healthy movement of intestines and passage time of the feed. In our feed, among other ingredients, beetroot contributes with natural dietary fibre. This, in combination with our products being naturally gluten free, make them extra kind to the digestive system.

Helps support a shiny coat and skin

plus

An optimal ratio of fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6 provides the right conditions for healthy skin and a shiny coat.

Common questions

You've asked, we answered

How do I switch cat food?

plus

We always recommend making a transition over about a week to ten days, where you gradually increase the amount of new feed and reduce the amount of the previous feed. This is recommended at all feed changes to reduce the risk of a reaction from the gastrointestinal system.

When should I switch from kitten food to adult food?

plus

We recommend that you switch from kitten food to adult food when your kitten is fully grown. For most cats, it occurs around one year of age.

How does kitten food differ from adult food?

plus

The biggest differences between the kitten food and our adult food is

  • The kitten food has higher levels of a fatty acid called Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA). DHA is an essential fatty acid for the development of the kitten's nervous system, brain and retina.

  • The kitten food has higher levels of fat for energy and growth, and an optimised ratio of the fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6, adapted for kittens. These fatty acids are important for growth and development as well as healthy skin and shiny fur.

  • The kitten food has higher levels of minerals, such as calcium and phosphorus, for the healthy development of the kitten's bones, ligaments and joints.

Does your kitten food contain taurine?

plus

Yes, all our cat food contains taurine well above the recommended minimum level for cats, as established by FEDIAF.

Is insect protein enough for my kitten's protein needs?

plus

Yes, our insect protein is rich in amino acids with high digestibility. Our food contains all essential amino acids that your cat needs, and the high digestibility makes it easy for your cat's digestive system to absorb the valuable nutrients. In other words, your cat gets all the protein it needs to get energy and be healthy!
