I have been working for the last 10 years doing what I love - making sure our pets, especially cats and dogs, are healthy and happy. After graduating from SLU, in 2013, I have worked in both larger animal hospitals and smaller clinics, with anaesthesia, dentistry and nutrition.

In September 2024, we launched perhaps our most requested product ever – wet food for cats! Wet food is often a favourite among cats thanks to its great taste, but what are the reasons to feed your cat wet food?

1. It’s rich in protein

Cats are carnivores, which means they require a high level of protein in their diet. Protein serves both as an energy source and as the building blocks for muscles and tissues. It also provides essential amino acids, like taurine, which is vital for heart health.

Petgoods' wet food is primarily made from black soldier fly larvae, a protein source that naturally contains high levels of protein and is rich in essential amino acids, just like meat! In addition to protein, the energy in the wet food mainly comes from the larvae’s natural fats. As a complete food, it naturally contains all the essential amino acids your cat needs.

2. It has a high water content

Our domestic cats descend from desert-dwelling felines, meaning it’s natural for them to get the water they need from their food. Cats can be quite particular about when and where they want to drink—what type of bowl, where the water is placed, and they may even prefer running water over still water. This can sometimes lead to cats drinking too little.

By giving your cat wet food, you’re naturally providing one of the most important nutrients of all: water.

3. It’s incredibly tasty!

Wet food has more flavor and aroma than dry food, making it more appealing to picky eaters or cats with a reduced appetite.

Since the launch of Petgoods' cat food, the feedback on taste has been fantastic – cats love it! This was also confirmed by a taste panel of cats of various ages, breeds, and sizes who helped evaluate the product – around 90% of the cats that participated liked the food, which is an impressive result considering how picky cats can be.
