Here you can read our recommendations and tips for when to switch to different dog food. Follow our gradual transition to ensure that your dog's stomach remains as healthy as possible. 💚
Changing dog food - this is how you do it
Although our dog food is suitable for dogs with sensitive stomachs, it is always recommended that you make a gradual transition when you change dog food to avoid any problems. Follow the steps below for an optimal transition:
1.Use the calculator on our website to get a recommendation on how much food your dog needs per month and day. The recommendation is a guide based on your dog's weight and activity level (low, medium, high).
2.Remember that different types of dog food weigh differently, therefore it is important to convert your dog's needs from grams to dl as to ensure that your dog gets the right dosage. When it comes to petgood food, 1 dl (raw) weighs = 48 grams.
3.Make a gradual transition over 10 days (see below). ‘New food’ represents petgood dog food. Remember that a bowl of clean water should always be available for your furry friend! 💦
Changing dog food - a gradual transition:
New food: 25% - Previous food: 75%
New food: 50% - Previous food: 50%
New food: 75% - Previous food: 25%
New food: 100%
How much food and how often?
To find out how much your dog needs to eat, just use our calculator. Separating the meals into portions is recommended so that your dog is not at risk of eating too much food at once. A puppy usually gets food about 3-4 times a day while an adult dog usually eats about 1-3 times a day. Be sure to set routines and set times for food, and try not to give food too late at night.
P.S. Do not forget to make sure that your doggie always has access to water 💦
